Backgammon > Acey Ducey Backgammon
Aside from the regular backgammon, backgammon has other variants. One of the most popular variants is the acey ducey backgammon, sometimes also called acey deucey or acey deucy. Acey ducey is more like a race game rather than a strategy game compared to the regular backgammon games. A player must make advance points and determine the possibility of being able to make adjacent points. What distinguishes this game with other backgammon variants is that a player receives an extra turn after a roll of 1-2 or of doubles. The opening play, starting position, and endgame rules are also different with acey ducey backgammon. This variant is played without the doubling cube. The backgammon and gammons do not count. In acey ducey backgammon, the players' pieces are off the board when the game begins. Players must bear the checkers on at the beginning of the game. The movements of the checkers, however, are the same as in the regular backgammon. These are just some similarities and differences in the acey ducey variant and the standard backgammon game.
